Starkold are currently using their UK expertise in the construction site logistics field and tendering a framework agreement across mainland Europe and the Republic of Ireland.
We are extremely capable of completing this using our extensive existing supply chain, whilst utilising translation apps to negate the language barrier and grow our supply chain to Madrid, Lyon, Warsaw and Sligo to name just a few locations we’re making connections with. With the products and services being the same across the board, the challenges we are learning we have to overcome are indeed the language barrier, the fluctuating currency exchange rates, local laws of working hours and also the skill set of local labour depending on the locations.
Whilst carrying this procurement task out, we have found it astonishing to see how the same product and the same labour skill & service have such significant cost differences across multiple countries, which seem to depend on the cost and standard of living in the different countries.
