The Paris-Brest- Paris

In just a few days time on Sunday 20th August 23 at 1730 hrs I will be starting the 20th Paris – Brest – Paris 1250 km Ultra road cycling endurance event. In order to qualify for this event I have had to undertake a series of qualifying rides in early 2023 riding no less than a 200km, 300km, 400km and a final 600km and only on successfully completion of the qualifying rides then take on the main 1250km event to be complete unsupported in less than 90 hours.

The Paris-Brest- Paris is a long distance cycling event starting from the national Velodrome in Saint Quentin en Yvelines Paris out West to Brest and back again. It is one of the oldest cycling events still regularly run every four years.

The ride which originally started as a race in 1891 which proved such a success has now turned into one of the most famous rides in the world for the amateur rider. Further information on the history of the ride can be found on the link.

Starkold have organised many charity cycling events over the last fifteen years or so and in doing so raising valuable funds for the charities we continue to support year on year.
